Neil Gaiman

In his speech to graduates of the University of Arts Gaiman's purpose was to inspire students to be creative no matter how risky. Gaiman's main point that he states repeatedly in his address is to make good art.  No matter what you do, do the best you can, and make good art.

The agent in this situation is renowned creative writer Neil Gaiman.

Gaiman's agency was simple speech.  He did not employ the use of stunning visuals or diagrams.

As his act, Gaiman reflected over his career and offered advice based on his successes and failures.

Though it was deeper, Gaiman's general purpose was to inspire students to be creative and go with their feelings.

The scene for the speech was the University of the Arts commencement ceremony.

The two most important ratios in the speech are Purpose/Agent and Purpose/Act.  The purpose of most speeches like this are for inspiration.  When the purpose and the agent of Neil Gaiman are combined the speech is bound to be successful.  Gaiman has gone where these students want to go.  This generation wants to follow in his footsteps.

Again the purpose here was to inspire the graduates.  In order to inspire an individual they have to be convinced they can achieve their dreams.  Gaiman's act accomplishes that very goal.  His reflective style of speaking gives the students hope.  It makes them believe that if he did it then they can too.
