Colby was my partner for this activity. Of his five truths, I think the most arguable one was: "I know I am called to a life of purpose but I don't know what that purpose is." I know that he meant that he doesn't know what his
specific purpose is. However, I think the truth of this statement can be questioned because Colby does know what the
general purpose of his life is. He is a devout Christian and therefore knows from the Bible the general purpose of mankind, as well as the general purpose of followers of Christ.
I think the issue of truth with this statement definitely depends on social construction. Society puts singificant pressure on us to know our specific purpose in life. This societal pressure can make it easy to make a statement like "I don't know what my purpose is in life" even when we do know what our general purpose is in life.
