There are numerous things that define who I am as an individual. I'm a daughter, sorority sister, teammate, student, and best friend. As a daughter, my parents have defined and made me the person I am today. They raised me to always be respectful, and to be the best person that I possibly can be. As a sorority sister, I reflect on 200 of the most amazing women I know. They look to me for guidance, strength, and compassion. They see me for who I really am and are always there for me when I need them. Without the Greek community, I don't think my college experience could have been near what it was and for that i'm truly grateful. As a teammate, i'm part of something bigger than myself. We work as a whole and are always there for one another. When one falls, there is always someone else to pick up the pieces. I have loved nothing more than competing all over the country with the best friends anybody could ever ask for. As a student, I have a responsibility to myself, my parents, and my school. I strive everyday to be the best I can be. I work extremely hard so that I can make myself proud. I want my children to one day look up to me and see that college is everything. I have worked so hard to get where I am today and I wouldn't change a single thing about it. Lastly, i'm defined as a best friend. My friends mean the absolute world to me. I couldn't get through a single day without them. I want others to see me as the girl that they can go to in a time of need, or to seek advice. Disappointing my friends makes me disappointed in myself. I just want to live up to the expectations my friends have for me.
There are so many things in my life that I am thankful for. I try every single day to make others around me proud while I do the same for myself. I try not to let what others think about me bother me, but that's human nature. All that matters to me is that I live my life the way that I want to. As long as I do my best, that's all I can do. I'm so proud of the person I have become and I hope that I can always live up to my own expectations.
